Find the Reddit threads worth a genuine reply, ranked by evidence
Not every thread mentioning your category is worth a comment. PuffinScout ranks the ones that are, on the evidence in front of it, and labels a prediction as a prediction.
What makes a thread an opportunity
A thread is worth a reply when someone is asking a real question your brand can genuinely help answer, in a subreddit whose rules allow that kind of reply at all, and where the conversation is still active enough for a comment to be seen. PuffinScout checks all three before ranking a thread, rather than surfacing every post that happens to contain a category keyword.
How the ranking is built
Each candidate thread gets a fit score built from how directly the question matches what your brand does, how the subreddit’s rules treat that kind of mention, and recent activity in the thread. That score is a ranking of relevance, not a forecast of outcome: it estimates how good a fit the thread is, and it never states or implies that a reply will be upvoted, believed, or acted on. A prediction about audience reaction stays labelled as an estimate, never written as an observed fact.
You decide, every time
PuffinScout suggests a reply for the highest-ranked threads, written the way the subreddit actually talks, for you to edit before anything is posted. It never posts on its own and never signs in to Reddit. The ranking narrows a wide, noisy set of threads down to the handful worth your time; the judgment about whether a specific reply belongs in a specific thread stays yours.
Common questions
How do you decide a thread is worth a reply?
On the evidence in front of it: a real question a buyer is asking, an active discussion, and a place where a helpful answer fits. A thread that only mentions your category is not an opportunity by itself.
Is the ranking a guess?
Part of it is a prediction, and we label it as one. The ranking is built from what we can see, the question, the discussion and the fit, not from a promise about what happens if you reply.
Will you comment on the threads it finds?
No. We rank the openings and suggest what a helpful reply could say. You read each one, decide whether to join, and post it yourself.
How many opportunities will I get?
As many as the evidence supports, not a fixed quota. A quiet week with few genuine openings is reported as a quiet week, never padded to hit a number.
