What "brand monitoring" means for an AI answer
A search-engine brand alert tells you when your name appears on a page. An AI-answer brand check is different: it asks whether your name appears in the sentence the assistant actually wrote back to somebody. That sentence is built from a handful of sources the assistant chose to read, so a brand can be well known and still get left out of the one line a buyer actually sees, simply because none of the sources the assistant picked mentioned it.
One honest label, stated plainly

It is not a mirror of what shows up on your personal ChatGPT account, your region, or your chat history; answers from a consumer app shift by all three, so treat what we report as a representative read of the category rather than a screenshot of your own screen. What you can act on
Every question where your brand is absent is paired with the source the answer used instead, so the fix is specific rather than "do more content." If a Reddit thread is the source, PuffinScout finds it and suggests a reply for you to edit: you read the thread, and if a genuine reply is warranted you post it from your own account, in your own words. Being named is a result of being a real answer to a real question, never a promise this page makes.
