PuffinScout compared with RedReach

RedReach is a Reddit outreach tool: it finds threads, suggests replies, and sends automated messages at scale. PuffinScout starts from a different question, what AI search actually cites, and treats Reddit as the place you can act on that evidence, not the whole product.

Where the two products actually overlap

Both tools find Reddit threads relevant to a brand’s category and suggest a reply for a person to send. That overlap is real and worth naming plainly rather than pretending the two products do not compete at all. RedReach packages that workflow broadly, with competitor tracking, keyword tracking and automated outbound messages at volume. PuffinScout suggests a reply for the threads its citation monitoring flags as genuinely relevant, and stops there: no automated sending, no bulk messaging, ever.

Where they are different products

RedReach’s core question is "which Reddit threads should I reply to." PuffinScout’s core question is "which sources does AI search actually cite in my category, and is Reddit one of them." That is why PuffinScout builds and tracks a source map across major AI search engines, watches which brands get named in generated answers, and treats a Reddit reply as one action that follows from that evidence, not the product’s entire premise.

What we chose not to copy

Two things on RedReach’s site go further than PuffinScout is willing to: a claim about shaping how AI models themselves are trained, which is not something any outside tool can verify or control, and unsolicited messages sent to strangers at volume. Neither is something PuffinScout will build, regardless of demand for it. PuffinScout never signs in to Reddit and never sends a message on your behalf; a person reads every suggestion and posts it themselves, or does not.

Common questions

What is the main difference from RedReach?

RedReach is built to send Reddit outreach at scale. PuffinScout is built to show what AI search cites in your category, and treats Reddit as one place to act on that, with every reply posted by you.

Does PuffinScout send messages for me the way RedReach does?

No. Nothing is sent on your behalf. We show where a helpful reply fits and suggest what it could say; you post it yourself from your own account.

Can I use both?

You can; they answer different questions. If you mainly want to know where AI names you and which pages shape that, PuffinScout covers it on its own.

Which is cheaper to try?

PuffinScout gives you a real first report free, with no card and no Reddit login, so you can see what it surfaces before you decide anything.
